The Gigante Vercelli rice variety is an ancient variety that Ideariso has reintroduced to cultivation in its pure form.
\nThe Italian Ministry of Agriculture has entrusted Ideariso with the preservation of this historic variety. Low yields, a certain organoleptic quality – i.e. characteristics such as taste, appearance, smell and color – and natural resistance to diseases (an absolute specialty!) are the characteristics of this rice variety and have been selection criteria for this wholesome high-end product since ancient times.
\nAnd today they stand for a unique risotto rice. The large grains do not stick together during the cooking process and the risotto is uniquely creamy.
\nFor Gigante Vercelli, Ideariso reserves the most suitable fields for this variety, exclusively in the province of Vercelli. This rice variety does not require fungicides.
\nThe processing takes place in a high-quality facility where only small quantities of rice are milled per day and where the focus is on a perfect grain.
